How the Human Body Works in Health and Disease Part 1 (Queens County)
This course is designed to help laypersons with no previous formal health training understand how several systems in the body work together to make us the dynamic human beings we are. It also discusses what is amiss in specific health conditions affecting those systems and how they can be treated. Examples of topics discussed include heart and vessel disease, high blood pressure, diabetes, stroke, arthritis, lung disease and more. This course covers different topics from those offered in Part 2.

 Course FacilitatorPaula GauthierPaula is a retired RN with 41 years of nursing experience in a variety of geographic and clinical settings around the world. She retired from Holland College in 2017, after 21 years as a nurse educator.
Paula is a graduate of the PEI School of Nursing (Class of 1976). She later earned a Baccalaureate degree in Nursing from UBC and a Masters degree from the University of Portland, Oregon. She has worked in various geographic and clinical areas around the world, including the several Canadian provinces and the Canadian Arctic, USA, Middle East, South America and India. She retired from Holland College in 2017, after 21 years as a nurse educator. |
