Seniors College online courses starting this week!

February 01, 2022

We are happy to report that 14 courses are being offered online via Zoom in February and March. Please check your course list for dates and times. You will receive an email from your Facilitator with the Zoom link for your class. Information on how to use Zoom follows at the end of this message.

An additional 16 courses have been moved from the winter semester to the spring semester. Please note that if you were registered for a winter class that has been moved to the spring term, your registration has automatically been moved for you, unless you are registered or on a wait list for another course scheduled at the same time.

Some courses in both semesters still have space available so please check out the course list on our website and login to your account to add or change any courses.

If you want to add a course:
1. Login to your account
2. Click the Courses tab, second tab from the left
3. Click on Course List
4. In the Winter or Spring semesters click on the Green Open button
5. The system will add the course to your cart
6. Click on your cart and complete the registration.

If you want to cancel a course:
1. Login to your account
2. Click the “My Account” tab, second from the right
3. Click “My courses”
4. Click the red “Cancel” button to the right of the course you wish to withdraw from the course.

If you have never used Zoom before, we invite you to watch a YouTube tutorial video walking you through how to join a Zoom meeting. You can join a meeting from your smartphone, tablet, laptop, or desktop. You may choose to join with or without video depending on your device and comfort levels. Whatever device you decide to use, zoom will prompt you to download a free app. On your smartphone or tablet this app is called “ZOOM Cloud Meetings” and can be found in your ‘App Store” or equivalent.

Joining a Zoom Meeting

Each course that you are registered for will email you a unique Zoom link. This will be the same link you will use every week to log into your class. Consider placing a star on the email with the Zoom link for easy access week-to-week. Kindly, do not share this link with anyone. Please aim to arrive in your Zoom class 10-15 minutes early.

Unfortunately, Seniors College does not have the capacity to offer tech support. If you are feeling overwhelmed at the idea of online learning, consider talking to family and friends in your social networks for guidance and support.

I hope you find Zoom to be a satisfying way to engage in life-long learning, stay connected to the Seniors College community, all from the comfort of your own home!
