Course Details |
Description | Bridge provides an opportunity for meeting new people as well as adventure and mental fitness. This introductory course provides an overview of bidding, play and defense. It is designed for individuals with no bridge experience or those who are returning to bridge after an absence from the game.
Week 1 - Introduction, the language of bidding, hand valuation
Week 2 -The bidding ladder, responses, defense
Week 3 -No Trump opening bids and responses
Week 4 - Major suit opening bids and responses
Week 5 - Minor suit opening bids and responses
Week 6 - Rebids by opener
Week 7 - Rebids by responder - The Stayman Convention |

Objectives | By the end of the course the student will be able to successfully communicate with their partner and enjoy playing a game of Bridge. The course will provide a foundation for future learning of more advanced concepts. |
