Course Details |
Description | This course will provide an overview of the mania for Victorian Crazy quilting in the 1880's; show samples of both vintage and modern crazy quilts and discuss the current revival of this textile art form. |
Requirements | An interest in crazy quilting. |

Objectives | To provide participants with an opportunity to learn about Victorian crazy quilts through examples and discussions. |
Teaching Process | The session will be done as a narrative lecture, with questions and interaction with participants. There will also be crazy quilts on display, as well as vintage books from which references to crazy quilting will be shared with the participants. |

Background |
Penelope Player is a local quilter with a long fascination for crazy quilts. Penelope is not a scholar or textile historian, however comes from a family with long traditions of decorative needlework. She was taught embroidery at age five and has taught quilting and crazy quilting workshops for over twenty five years. Penelope has exhibited her quilts in shows in Japan, France and Toronto.
