History of Art from 1400 to Today (Queens County)
This course surveys art since the year 1400. We will look at key artistic periods, styles, and movements in Europe and North America, including the Renaissance, the Baroque, Romanticism, Impressionism, and Abstract Expressionism. Media including painting, graphic art, sculpture, architecture, ceramics, and textiles will be examined.

Dr Sheilagh Quaile is a historian of art, design, and material culture. She holds a PhD and MA in Art History from Queen’s University and a BA (Hons) in History from the University of Guelph. Her research has been published in the Journal of Design History and the online art history resource Smarthistory. |
