
An Introduction to Amateur (Ham) Radio (Queens County)
This will be a brief introduction to amateur (ham) radio. The objective is to provide members with an overview of the amateur radio hobby. It will include what amateur radio is all about, who are the amateur radio operators and what is required to become a licensed amateur radio operator. We will explain how and why amateur radio is important to emergency preparedness and will demonstrate why amateur radio is a fun and stimulating hobby for people of all ages.

Course FacilitatorBill McMasterBill McMaster has been a licensed amateur radio operator since 1978 and the President of the Charlottetown Amateur Radio Club (CARC) for the past four years. He is one of the instructors for the CARC Basic Radio Course, which has been hosted twice a year for the past three years.
