Description | Bridge provides an opportunity for meeting new people as well as adventure and mental fitness. This course builds upon the concepts introduced in Bridge Basics 1, students are expected to be familiar with these concepts. The focus is on play of the hand, making a plan, promoting winners, finessing winners, trumping losers etc. The initial bidding concepts are reviewed and new concepts are introduced.
Week 1 - Pre-emptive opening bids and responses, Declarer's Plan
Week 2 - 1 NT opening bids, Stayman & Jacoby Transfer responses
Week 3 - Strong 2 club bids & Responses
Week 4 - Overcall and advances
Week 5 - Takeout doubles and advances
Week 6 - Competitive Bidding, Developing tricks and eliminating losers |
Requirements | Bridge Basics 1 or equivalent |

Objectives | By the end of the course the student will be able to evaluate their partners hand and formulate a plan to win the contract. The course will provide a foundation for future learning of more advanced concepts. |
